Lockett Spirit Shirts
School Spirit Shirts are now on sale.  Shirts will be athletic grey and available in short sleeve ($12) or long sleeve ($15).  All orders must be turned in by Wednesday, August 31st.  Order forms are going home on August 15th.  Contact Jonsey Proctor if you have any questions.

Grading Scale Correction
Correction to Page 12 in the Student Handbook/Agenda
 
Statewide Uniform Grading Scale
Lockett Elementary School will follow the statewide uniform grading scale as approved by the State Board of Education (2016) for Grades first through fifth. This uniform grading scale and the system for calculating grade point averages (GPAs) and class rank will apply to all courses carrying Carnegie units, including units earned at the middle/junior high school level.
The uniform grading scale is as follows:
A          90 – 100
B          80 - 89
C          70 - 79
D          60 - 69
F          59 and below
 
Additional Information:
Principal’s Honor Roll – All “A’s” (90 – 100) in all core subject areas – not including related arts.
Honor Roll – An Average of “A’s” and “B’s” (80 – 100) in all core subject arears – not including related arts. No Grade of “C”, “D”, or “F”.
Academic Reception – Students who have earned an “A” average during the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, Nine Weeks will be invited to attend the Academic Reception at the end of the school year.

Meet Mrs. Goff (Reading Intervention)
Sherry is a 1983 graduate of BHS. She started teaching in North Carolina after graduating from Pembroke State University in 1996. In 1999, she and her family moved back to Branchville, and she has taught in Dorchester 4 until this year. Sherry has taught 3rd and 4th grades. She also served as ELA Lead Teacher and Reading Coach. In 2004, she received her masters in Teaching and Learning from Nova Southeastern University. Sherry looks forward to working with the students, parents, and teachers at Lockett Elementary.
Meet Mrs. Pettis (Music)
Maria Pettis has been a band director and music educator for over 14 years, having taught in public schools in New York, Virginia and South Carolina. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Ithaca College in New York as well as a Masters in Music Education from City University of New York, Queens.  She plays clarinet with several local ensembles including the Charleston Wind Symphony and the Charleston Community Band.  She lives in Summerville with her husband, Mike; twin boys, Cole and Michael; and golden retriever, Blossom.  Formerly with Dorchester District Two, Mrs. Pettis is excited to be joining the Lockett Elementary School faculty, and to share the joy of music with all of her students.  
Meet Ms. Ott (5k)
Caroline graduated from the University of South Carolina in Columbia majoring in Early Childhood Education in May 2016.  She attended Lockett Elementary School from 4k to 6th grade and attended Branchville High School from 7th grade until graduation in 2012.  She is so excited to teach kindergarten in her hometown!
