New Teacher Spotlight
Mrs. Tyler, Reading Coach

My name is Angelica Tyler and this is my first year with the Lockett Elementary School family. This is my first year as a Reading Coach, after spending three years teaching middle school English Language Arts and two years as an Elementary Reading Specialist. I did my undergraduate work at the University of Georgia, Masters of Education at Francis Marion University, and Reading Recovery Certification from Clemson University. My goals for this year include increasing small group time across all grade levels, offering meaningful literacy training for parents, and helping teachers infuse reading into all subjects.†

Meet Mrs. Sawicki (5th Grade ELA & Social Studies)†
Growing up in rural Illinois was good training for my life here near Grover, SC.† I love the slow pace of country living and enjoy reading on my front porch or watching my horses run in the pasture.† I graduated from Illinois State University in 1989 and spent the first 13 years of my teaching life on the west coast (California and Nevada).† While in Nevada I earned my Master's degree from UNLV.† While teaching in Berkeley County, I earned my National Board certification.† Dorchester County has been my home since 2005.† I am SUPER excited to join the LES team, and I look forward to getting to know everyone this year.
